About Desktopnest

A Petaling Jaya practice that reads app analytics for creator economy products — without selling you another chart wall.

Why we exist

Creator economy apps generate dense telemetry: gifts, tips, live minutes, subscription trials, creator payouts. The charts arrive faster than the shared meaning. Desktopnest started when two product leads in Petaling Jaya kept hiring “reporting help” and still left roadmap meetings with three conflicting stories about the same week of data.

We chose a counsel model on purpose. We do not host your events, sell seats on a dashboard, or promise automated answers. We sit with the people who must decide — product, growth, partnerships — and leave a written reading they can defend.

How we work

Engagements are scoped, time-boxed, and named. You know whether you bought an audit, a retention reading, a funnel review, or a cohort briefing. Deliverables are documents and facilitated sessions, not indefinite access.

We prefer primary sources: your event dictionary, your exports, your messy naming. When the data cannot support a claim, we say so in the brief instead of decorating the uncertainty.

Values we keep visible

  • One vocabulary in the room. If creator sessions and audience sessions are mixed, we stop the celebration until they are separated.
  • Assumptions in writing. Every brief lists what we trusted and what we doubted.
  • Refuse the vanity lap. We will not reframe weak retention as “engagement” to make a slide kinder.

Malaysia context

Our office sits in Petaling Jaya. Many clients ship regionally; we still ground recommendations in how Malaysian creators and audiences actually use the product, including festival spikes, e-wallet tip habits, and bilingual onboarding friction that shows up as early churn.
